Yesterday we had the chance to participate in the Collegiate Career Expo in Indianapolis, IN. The event was held downtown at the Indiana Convention Center. It was a big change from all the excitement that the Super Bowl brought but nevertheless we still had a great turnout for the event. Several colleges and both local and national organizations had a presence at the Expo.
We were a bit late to sign up for the opportunity, but still managed to throw together quite the booth.
We were fittingly located right between Angie’s List and Apple (it could have been alphabetically, but we like to think it was fate, giving our involvement with both). As much as we respect both of those organizations, we have to admit that we thought our booth was far superior. In fact, we had more Apple products at our booth than than Apple! We we had a Mac Mini hooked to a 27″ Apple Cinema display running a slideshow of some of our killer photography, an iPad with our proprietary explosion view of the Signature 8000 for visitors to interact with, and a handful of literature pieces; including our new recruitment tri-fold that proved very effective.
Before we knew it, we had quite the line at our booth. We were able to share a bit of the Apex culture as well as briefly discuss the opportunity we had to offer to our prospective candidates. The iPad proved once again, to be an invaluable piece of equipment for Apex. We were able to capture information from interested prospects via an iPad application, and use that data to follow up with them today to set up interviews with the most qualified candidates.
We spoke to around 60+ college students and recent graduates from around the state. It has been one of the best turnouts at a career fair that we have ever experienced. We are already planning our visit to the 2013 CCE. And, of course, have plans to make our booth even more spectacular.
We will be at the following career fairs. If you, or someone you know, plan to attend any of these events, please stop by our booth and say hello. We will even leave you with an Apex Pen that is made from 100% post-consumer products. It is totally green and it even writes with soy ink!
